Inner Calm

Counselling & Yoga

Jacqueline Quick RSW, MSW

The inner calm approach

An invitation to cultivate inner healing, nurture authenticity, and deepen your connection to

self and loved ones.

Hello, and welcome to...

Inner Calm Counselling & Yoga

As a therapist I seek to provide you with a space that allows you to exhale and catch your breath. Whatever brings you to my office, whether it’s the need to heal from the wounds of trauma, reconnect with yourself, or find calm in a stressful situation, I aspire to support you on your healing journey.

I take an integrative and holistic approach, with a belief that each individual has an innate capacity to cultivate their own inner healing. This allows our experience together to be co-created in a way that fits your unique needs and wellness goals. Through pairing intentional therapeutic approaches with your own wisdom, we will illuminate paths of wellness, helping you to find your inner calm.

We all deserve to live a meaningful life filled with connection, authenticity and self-love. Let’s begin the journey together.

introduction

JacquelinE QuicK Msw, rsw

I’ve always felt drawn to the healing arts, and twelve years ago I left the world of finance to pursue a career as a counselling therapist. It’s a great privilege to do this work and I cherish the many relationships and connections I have formed in the years since.

I’m a Registered Social Worker with the Alberta College of Social Workers, and have completed my Bachelor of Social Work and Masters of Social Work with a clinical focus on trauma. I have sought out several trainings and literature on various therapeutic approaches, and within my practice I draw primarily on EMDR, Internal Family Systems Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Yoga and Mindfulness.

For the past nine years I’ve worked for Alberta Health Services in the areas of addiction, mental health, and psychiatry; supporting individuals from their teens into their senior years. Providing counselling for a variety of issues, including, but not limited to, anxiety, depression, loss & grief, trauma, addiction, ADHD, and navigating life transitions. Across these years I have gained such a rich experience from working alongside knowledgeable professionals and learning from the individuals I have the privilege to work with.

I’m originally from the East Coast and I love our simple and relaxed approach to life that always makes time for fun and connection. I’m a proud mom to a son and daughter, and presently I’m learning how to navigate the teenage years alongside them. In my free time you’ll find me out in nature, in the yoga studio, and spending time with family and friends, and of course our family dog Bijoux.

There is freedom waiting for you,

on the breezes of the sky,

and you ask, “What if I fall?”

Oh but my darling, what if you fly?

— Erin Hansen

Yoga

My yoga journey began over a decade ago, and it has remained an integral part of my own wellness journey. I appreciate yoga’s intentional focus on deepening your connection to body and self through movement and curiosity. In 2022, my passion for yoga led me to pursue the 200 hour yoga teacher training through the Agni Yoga School.

As a counselling therapist, my hope is to blend my love of yoga with my counselling practice to promote holistic healing and vitality.

Yoga is the ultimate practice. It simultaneously stimulates our inner light and quiets our overactive minds. It is both energy and rest. Yin and Yang. We feel the burn and find our bliss.
